"The Man Handler"

Maison des Reves written & performed by Talie Melnyk

Having debuted for the first time in Canada, Talie Melnyk's "Maison des Reves" opened London Ontario's 2014 Fringe Festival on Friday June 6 at the Arts Project on Dundas Street downtown London.

Get ready Edmonton!  Maison des Reves is being taken to Edmonton Alberta for their 33rd International Fringe Theatre Festival August 14 - 24, 2014.  Maison des Reves opens Friday, August 15th, 2014 at the Acacia 10433 - 83rd Ave in Edmonton at 12:15 PM.

"Maison des Reves" (House of Dreams) is based on the true story of Alexe Popova, who confessed to killing over 300 men in Samara, Russia over a period of 30 years between 1879 to 1909.  She provided a way to free or "liberate" those women in her community who were being horribly abused by the men in their lives."

Talie has been attracted to true crime stories for a number of years and specifically, those stories that involve women.  When Talie was looking for a subject, one that had no autobiography written, it must have been fate when she stumbled upon a short paragraph on Alexa Papova.  Following time spent on research and extensive questions asked, Talie then knew she had to tell Alexa Popova's story.

"Alexe Popova fought the War on Women in her own way, with a little lethal poison."

Ensure to mark your calendars as you won't want to miss this performance that will leave you thinking about it for hours.
